Meet Chris!

Chris Getty is a father, community leader, and dedicated public servant committed to strengthening the place he has always called home.
Born and raised in Lyons, Illinois, Chris understands firsthand the values that define this community: hard work, responsibility, and looking out for one another. A graduate of Morton West High School and Eastern Illinois University, he returned home after college to build his career and serve the community that helped shape him.
In addition to being a licensed insurance producer, Chris has devoted nearly two decades to public service. As Mayor of the Village of Lyons, he has focused on responsible leadership, economic development, and building partnerships that create real opportunity for residents and local businesses. His steady approach and commitment to collaboration have helped guide Lyons through challenges while positioning the community for long-term growth.
Chris has also served in leadership roles throughout Lyons Township, including on the Township Mental Health Board and as the elected Township Supervisor. In each role, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to bring people together, work across differences, and focus on practical solutions that improve lives.
At the heart of Chris’s leadership is a simple belief: government works best when it listens, remains accountable, and puts people first.
As a father and lifelong resident, Chris is deeply invested in the future of his community and in building a stronger future for the next generation.
