People Over Party

For the last 17 years, I've worked in local government where people expect you to solve problems. They do not care who gets the credit. They care whether the streets are safe, whether their taxes are being used wisely, and whether government is actually working for them.

That is the approach I will bring to Congress. Every decision starts with the same question:

Will this make life better for the people I was elected to serve?

Healthcare

Education

Public Safety

Government Reform

Social Security

Reproductive Rights

Energy & Environment

My Commitment

I am not going to agree with Democrats on everything. I am not going to agree with Republicans on everything.

That is the point.

I am an Independent because I want the freedom to look at every issue, listen to the people I represent, and make the decision I believe is right.

Sometimes that will mean working with Democrats. Sometimes it will mean working with Republicans. Sometimes it will mean telling both parties they are wrong.

What will not change is who I work for. The people of Illinois' Fourth District.
